Introduction

Madagascar has hosted the 16th Francophone Summit from 22nd to 27th November 2016. This Summit gathered heads of states of French speaking countries around common interests like international politics, education and cooperation between them. During the months of October and November 2016, Madagascar has organized events on different themes in partnership with institutions and experts from all member countries in preparation to this Summit. 
 
The “Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)”, one of the four Francophone operators, an international association of some 800 institutions of higher education and research in 100 countries, organized the Francophone Cybersecurity Conference. The conference was held on 2nd and 3rd November 2016 in partnership with the “Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF)” and with the support of the “Autorité de Régulation des Technologies de Communication (ARTEC)” in Madagascar.
 
With the increasing cyberattacks, AUF is committed to strengthening cybersecurity and cyberdefense in francophone countries. AUF invited BIRGER.  to participate in two conferences with the view to share its cybersecurity expertise. The first conference focused on information systems security policy and the second one on ethical hacking.
